Northgate Connect

Connect your device

Northgate Connect works with apps that speak the AnyConnect / OpenConnect protocol, for example Cisco Secure Client or OpenConnect, on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux.

Download the app

Tap a logo to download an open-source client we host, or to open the official store listing.

Windows OpenConnect GUI 1.6.2 · GPL Mac Wombat 1.3.2 · MIT · macOS 15+ iPhone App Store · Cisco Secure Client iPad App Store · Cisco Secure Client Android F-Droid · OpenConnect

Hosted files: SHA256, licence and source. Windows licence GPL-2; Mac licence MIT.

We do not host Cisco installers (their licence forbids redistribution). Cisco's App Store terms also say the Cisco Secure Client may not be used with non-Cisco servers. Prefer the open-source clients above when you can.

  1. Install the app on your device.
  2. Add a new connection. For the server address use vpn.northgateconnect.us.
  3. Enter the username and VPN password you chose on your account page (we never show or email your password; you can set a new one there).
  4. Connect. Your plan allows the number of devices at the same time that you chose when you subscribed.

Server address and connection profile

One account works on every server above: pick the one you want. In Cisco Secure Client the list appears after your first sign-in, and the profile download below adds both. In OpenConnect GUI, Wombat and other apps, save each address as its own connection.

On a computer you can skip typing: download the Northgate Connect profile and put it in the app's profile folder (Cisco Secure Client), or run OpenConnect with --xmlconfig northgate-connect.xml.

FAQ

Which app should I use?

Prefer the open-source clients we host (Windows OpenConnect GUI, Mac Wombat) or F-Droid OpenConnect on Android. Cisco Secure Client on the App Store is widely used on iPhone and iPad, but Cisco's store terms say it may not be used with non-Cisco servers.

What is the server address?

Always vpn.northgateconnect.us — no port number. Description: Northgate Connection.

Where do I find my username and password?

You chose both on your account page. We never show or email the password. You can set a new one there any time.

A device is stuck as connected

On your account page use Force offline for one device or Force all offline. That only ends the current session; anyone who knows your password can connect again.

How many devices at once?

Your plan's limit (1, 2 or 3). Connecting another device beyond the limit fails until you force one offline or upgrade.

Billing, cancel, refunds

Manage plans and cancel on your account or in PayPal. All sales are final — see Refunds and the Terms.

Which time zone are dates shown in?

All dates and times on this site and in our emails are shown in Nevada time (Pacific Time, PST or PDT), whatever your device is set to. Your plan end dates are fixed moments in time and do not change with the display.

Connected devices

On your account page, under your plan, you can see the devices that are connected to your VPN login right now (device type, which server it is on, time connected and the VPN address). "Force offline" ends one device's connection and "Force all offline" ends them all, which is useful if a device is stuck as connected. It only ends the current connection: whoever knows your username and password can connect again, and you can change your VPN password on the same page.

Contact and support

You can see your plan and dates, change your VPN password, upgrade, cancel and delete your account on your account page. Payments, receipts and the automatic renewal are managed in your PayPal account. A support email address appears here and at the bottom of every page when it is available.
